What You Need To Know About Postpartum Mental Health

6. Your Feelings Could Be Normal — Or Not
After having a baby, the next few months could be a little rough. For the last nine months or so, your hormones have been heightened and once you deliver your baby, those hormones come back down to normal levels, but it happens quite suddenly and it can make you feel like a mess.

Of course, you are bringing home a baby and that is life-changing, and beautiful and amazing, but still. It can all make you feel unstable. And for most of us, those hormones shifting are fairly short-lived and we even out. For others, there could be more difficulty. The difference can be subtle and the best thing you can do is let your provider know what’s going on.
