You might have heard that Disney World has a massive underground tunnel system that lets characters move across the park without breaking immersion. Disneyland has the same thing, but on a smaller scale. 

"Disneyland has underground areas, but most are basements used for storage, food prep areas, employee break rooms. There are a couple tunnels used to get trash and supplies out of the middle of the park, but only a couple," a worker of five years shared on Reddit. "Disney World has a much more extensive underground system than Disneyland does."
