It's counter-intuitive, but more sleep during the day may correspond with better sleep at night. Conversely, eliminating naps (and perhaps replacing them with quiet time instead) may be the key to getting kids on the 12-hour sleep train. It may take some trial and error, but finding the right balance between naps and nighttime sleep is well worth the effort.
