How To Tackle One Of The Hardest Parts Of Toddlerhood

1. Ignore
When the purpose of the tantrum is to gain attention, looking the other way may be the better part of valor. Children don't care if the attention is negative or positive, so if you yell, they're still getting what they were after.

The Centers for Disease Control suggest that, during a fit, you don't touch, talk to, or look at your child (assuming their safety is not an issue). Consistently ignoring this particular behavior should help extinguish it over time.
