Tips For Going Back To Work After You Have A Baby

2. Make Plans With Your Boss Early On
Let's face it, no one likes to be caught by surprise. And, as I found out after I quit my job following the birth of my second child, supervisors don't always take too kindly to being kept out of the loop. So, map out your ideal plan ahead of time and make sure you keep your boss informed if anything changes. Also take the time to talk about pumping arrangements before your first day back.

As Kimber Kirshner Azevedo, a corporate mom coach, advises, “Before returning (preferably before leaving!) tell your boss that you intend to come back, put in place clear boundaries, such as pumping times, no overtime for the first few months, and what the plan is for when baby gets sick. Open communication and realistic expectations are the key.”
