1. Princess Diana Threw Herself Down Stairs While Pregnant
Princess Diana was always frank about her mental health issues, and revealed that she dealt with depression during her marriage to Prince Charles. She recorded her thoughts on tape, which she later gave to journalist Andrew Morton. In one of the tapings she revealed that at one point she became so desperate that she threw herself down a set of stairs while four months pregnant with Prince William.

“I had told Charles I felt so desperate and I was crying my eyes out,” the princess shared on the tape. “He said I was crying wolf. ‘I’m not going to listen,’ he said. ‘You’re always doing this to me. I’m going riding now.’ So I threw myself down the stairs. The Queen comes out, absolutely horrified, shaking — she was so frightened.”

Diana had bruising around her stomach, but she knew she "wasn’t going to lose the baby."

In a later interview with Martin Bashir for Panorama, she explained that she resorted to these measures because she needed help. “I did inflict upon myself. I didn’t like myself, I was ashamed because I couldn’t cope with the pressures," she said.
