I am passionate about language and always have been. I think specific language is very important when you're speaking about work or relationships. But you know what happens when you have kids? That all goes out the window. You're talking so much every day that specific and helpful language sometimes takes a back seat. Add in some sleep deprivation and an ornery toddler, and you'll find yourself shouting "be careful!" at every turn. 

Unfortunately, that can quickly get lost to a toddler who hears it all day long. Instead, you've got to return to specific language, like reminding your little one to look ahead of them or think about the next step. Here are a few ways to say "be careful" without using those words.
