1. "What Do You Think?"
Let's face it. Kids aren't often asked for their input. When you ask them what they think, and then seriously consider their answer, you show them that they are valued members of the family unit and that their opinions count. 

This is also a great way to put the responsibility back on kids when they have a problem that's within their capability to solve or to encourage higher level thinking skills and curiosity when they have a question.
