2. "You Decide"
When my mom was little, her grandma would take her into town. At the end of the day, she got to decide whether she wanted a treat or to take the bus back. Neither was extravagant, but she remembers it because she got to make a choice.

Kids crave control, especially because their safety and well-being necessitates parents making most decisions for them. Not wearing a seat belt in the car is obviously not an option, but we can certainly let them pick what's for snack or their outfit for the day.
