2. Read A Book
The benefits of reading aloud to children are almost too many to name. Reading to children promotes early literacy and language development and is associated with school success. It helps nurture a lifelong love of reading, as well as the bond between adult and child. There is literally no downside.

Grandparents are in a perfect position to become a little one's favorite reader. Grandma and grandpa have the patience and time that parents don't necessarily have and will happily read Green Eggs and Ham for the hundredth time. Kids will love to hear how Frog and Toad sound in a different voice. For books that highlight intergenerational relationships, check out I Love Saturdays y domingos and Just Grandma and Me.
