When She's Ready
Girls are most often the first to reach puberty, as early as age eight, with boys following later, on average around age 11. Prepare your daughter by providing her with easy-to-read kid-friendly material, such as the American Girl series, The Care and Keeping of You. If she’s not interested, leave it on her bookshelf to pick up when she’s ready. Non-gender specific books and books for boys are available as well.
