Make A Mindful Jar
A mindful jar can help an overwhelmed or upset child calm down. Simply fill a jar with water and add a few dollops of glitter glue. All your kid has to do is shake it up and watch the glitter whirl around and fall to the bottom.

The mindful jar is also a great metaphor for the emotions themselves (we get all stirred up but eventually settle down and see clearly).
