9. They Can't Keep Public Gifts
The royals get an eye-popping amount of gifts from diplomats, fans, and well wishers each year, and royal protocol calls for them to graciously accept each one of them. But because they get so many things, they're not allowed to keep all of the items. The palace might be big, but its rooms would be overrun with trinkets! To give you an idea of how many gifts they receive, Prince George received 774 presents throughout 2014, when he was just one year old. 

But even if George wanted to keep all of the gifts, he wouldn't be able to. According to the Royal Family’s official website: “The fundamental principle governing the acceptance of gifts by Members of The Royal Family is that no gifts, including hospitality or services, should be accepted which would, or might appear to, place the Member of The Royal Family under any obligation to the donor."
