Real Breastfeeding Questions Answered By A Lactation Consultant

What are some at-home solutions breastfeeding moms can try to increase their milk supply?
QC:

● Holding your baby skin to skin

● Applying heat to your breasts

● Power pumping

● Fenugreek

● Oatmeal

● Brewers yeast (it’s often in lactation cookies but you can also put some in your oatmeal)

● Lactation cookies

● Soups and broths

● Make sure you’re eating an additional 500 calories

● LOTS of water. An ideal goal would be 3 liters per day for a lactating woman. Try and drink 1-2 glasses every time you sit down to nurse. Set an alarm if needed to remind you to stay hydrated.
