Set Big Goals
Setting goals is an important part of successful independence. If we start talking about goals when our children are young, they will pick up the habit of setting personal goals themselves. Big, long-term goals for young children might look like being able to have their room entirely clean, being able to ride their bike around the block without a parent, or cooking a meal for their family. There are lots of little steps in order to get to those goals, but they’re perfectly attainable. Children will look forward to their goals and the steps they need to get there.
