11. Your older child(ren) will still want to be your baby.
When you’re holding a tiny new human, your older child will no longer feel like your baby, no matter what you tell her. However, she may start to act like your baby again, demanding diapers (no!) and crying uncontrollably. Hang in there and remind yourself she was your baby first. This doesn’t mean she gets everything she wants, but it does mean she will need special attention. Even as a thirteen-year-old, I remember feeling jealous of how many pictures my parents took of my new little sister.
