14. Don’t count on breastfeeding to be the same.
I assumed breastfeeding would be easy with my second. After all, I’d nursed my first daughter for a little over two years, and while I’d had some annoying supply challenges in the beginning, I didn’t experience much discomfort. With my second, it hurt like hell for weeks. I bled and cried and paid a lactation consultant to come to my house. Thankfully time and patience with her latch paid off, but boy was I surprised by how much more of a challenge it was this time around.
