9. The outside world won’t stay at bay.
With my first daughter, I lived in a magical cocoon for months after her birth. This time, by week two, my husband was back at work and I was freelancing instead of taking naps. Add a busy three-year-old and I was out of the house a whole lot faster. While I felt ready, I was sad not to live in that same bubble again. I also found other people expected me to return to life as normal more quickly, too.
