Speaking of home studies, you'll need to do one. That means having a social worker come once or a few times to your house to interview you and your partner and any other family members who live in the house. They'll ask you a lot of questions, which can be mentally taxing but isn't designed to trip you up, simply to ensure you're the right fit for an adoptive child.
