17. Role Play Interactions With Disabled Peers
While this needs to be done with tact, it’s helpful for kids to role play scenarios so they know how to respond to new situations. If you’re worried about how they might interact when introduced to someone with special needs, take turns being your child and the new person and model how the interaction should go. Practice will help your child remember to be kind and not give unwanted attention.
