17. Examine Your Breastfeeding Practices
Although some research indicates the breastfeeding is protective against postpartum depression, it may have the opposite effect if mom has low supply or is being pressured to nurse when she doesn't want to. If breastfeeding isn't enjoyable for you or is just another source of stress, it's probably contributing to your PPD. Breast milk has great benefits for a baby, but it is far more important to have an engaged, stable mother.
