How To Build An Effective Bedtime Routine For Your Baby
7.
For Older Babies, Read A Book
As babies grow, they begin to enjoy looking at pictures in books, which is a fantastic way to start a bedtime tradition they'll love as they get older, too.
Dr. Bailey recommends reading “for 10-15 minutes to give them time to settle down; if old enough, they get to pick out the books.”
She also mentioned that she started reading to her daughters before bed around the 12-month mark, although you could start sooner. And, for families with older siblings, this is a great time to get big brother or big sister to help by practicing those reading skills.
