3. Beware Of Furniture
Furniture can pose multiple risks. First, it should be tethered to the walls to prevent tipping. Top-heavy furniture can crush and even kill children.

Second, furniture (and carpets!) can be another source of off-gassing and exposure to flame retardants. Whenever possible, let furniture air in the garage or outdoors when new and look for items free of flame retardants. Moreover, second-hand and green products will have a smaller impact on indoor air quality.
