How To Decide Which Parenting Philosophy Is For You

Study Involvement Styles
The degree to which you plan to intervene when your child encounters problems is a major consideration. As the name implies, helicopter parents are hoverers who are highly involved in helping their children succeed, while lawnmower parents actively remove obstacles. Free-range parents take a hands off approach to supervision.

A more moderate take is lighthouse parenting. In this style, the parent guides the child from afar, keeping them from crashing on the rocks, but allowing them to make mistakes and find their own way.
