How To Choose The Perfect Preschool For Your Child

Check Out A Co-Op
In the co-op model parents co-teach alongside preschool teachers for a set time, often weekly or monthly. The school may follow one or more philosophies, but there is often an emphasis on cooperation and resolving conflicts. Parents also form the school’s board, making decisions on hiring new teachers, determining tuition, and making major decisions impacting the school.

The co-op option is not exclusively for stay-at-home parents. Some schools offer a nighttime or weekend participation option. And sometimes shifts can be covered by another family member, such as a grandparent, or caregiver. The tuition is often affordable and less than for drop-off preschools.
