How To Choose The Perfect Preschool For Your Child

Select The Setting
Preschool facilities vary in so many ways. Some have large open outdoor spaces for children to play. Some are entirely indoors, with an indoor play space.

Is a sandbox important to your child? A jungle gym? If the "twos" class meets in one room on Mondays and another room on Tuesdays with a different teacher, will your child be able to adjust and feel comfortable?

There are preschools that feel like someone's home and may even utilize a single-family residence as its primary building. Others take on a more institutional look and feel, with the latest furnishings and newest toys.

What is the check-in and check-out process like? Some schools have a drive-thru set up where teachers or assistants open doors and children leave the car to go to their classrooms. At other preschools, you will park and walk your child to school.
