Sleeping in might not be realistic, but we can hit the sack early. Not only is walking around with bags under our eyes that could handle a transcontinental voyage a questionable fashion choice, running a sleep deficit has consequences for our health and general well-being.

You put your kids to bed early when they're cranky and exhausted, so do the same for yourself. And if you've got a baby in the house, do the thing you tell everyone else to do and catch a few extra Z's while the little one naps. Dishes and laundry and piles of toys will be around for the rest of your life and you will be way better equipped to handle them if you aren't running a self-imposed sleep deprivation experiment!
