1. Give Yourself Time For Your Libido To Return
While it's recommended to wait six weeks before resuming sexual activity, the desire for intimacy may take longer to return for some women, especially following a traumatic birth or difficult recovery. Don't beat yourself up. Taking care of a new baby is hard, tiring work, and your hormones and body won't necessarily be back to "normal" by six weeks either.

In fact, some midwives will tell you it takes nine months for your body to grow a baby and nine months for it to recover again. Just know everyone is different and it's not abnormal to need more time. If this is the case for you, find other ways to be intimate with your partner, including snuggling and kissing, and be forthright that your body isn't ready.
