Ask For Help
It can be hard to ask for help, but this is one of those instances in life where you really should. Many women think having their mother or another relative come stay after the baby is born may feel intrusive, but you might be surprised how little you actually care when you're exhausted and just need someone to wash that breast pump or hold the baby or bring you a hot meal.

Asking friends and family who come visit for food and chore assistance is a great idea, too. Often people offer to help but we're too shy to actually take them up on it. Stop. Tell people what you need and they'll likely be happy to make your life a little easier. You're going to be tired, you're going to be sore, you're going to need help.
