4. It Can Take More Than Eight Weeks To Find A Heartbeat
While a baby's heart begins beating around six weeks, most ultrasounds won't find the heartbeat until eight or more weeks. It's not uncommon for women to come in for an appointment around eight weeks and not be able to find a heartbeat even with a viable pregnancy. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including when a woman ovulates later than average in her cycle.
