The choice to breastfeed or not is an intensely personal decision, but it seems that those around a nursing mother always have opinions to give.

Some advice can be well meaning—for instance, an overwhelmed mom who has already been asked what other avenues she wants to try may be grateful for the gentle permission to use a bottle or formula. But others are more unwarranted.
