Many families opt for a pediatrician, a doctor who specializes in the health and illnesses of babies, children, and adolescents, preferring their specific expertise on little ones. Others choose a family medicine doctor, who is versed in the full range of medical subjects — the benefit being that your whole family can see them.
It's also an option to look beyond Doctors of Medicine. For a "whole-person" approach, you might consider a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Or, look for an MD with additional training in the areas of natural and/or alternative medicine.
