2. Start With The Right Gear
If you're not getting started with the infant method, you're going to need some gear. Take a stroll with your child down the potty aisle at Target, and let them pick out a chair. You might also consider a seat reducer, but you'll need a stool to make the grown-up toilet accessible (you'll need a way to boost them to sink level anyway).

Consider two potties if you have a two-story home, as well as a travel potty so they can go on the go (you'd be surprised how terrifying a public restroom can be to a small child).

You'll also need plenty of underwear (favorite characters can be highly motivating) and/or training pants. Flushable wipes are a good idea, and depending on the method you choose, you should stock up on cleaning supplies.
