4. Focus On Your Child
As much as possible, keep your attention on your little one during the training phase. This is absolutely necessary if you're employing a method that requires you to catch them going and run them to the bathroom. You have to be really tuned in if you're going to learn their signals... or you'll have a big mess.

You can also consider potty training to be a bonding experience. Put away your phone and spend time with your child, whether you're actively teaching them how to wipe or playing and watching for the pee pee dance.
