While smart phones and other devices have given us many advantages, they're also hugely addictive and can take away from our ability to be present with our families. And, to further complicate things, we also know the choices we make influence those our children will make down the road. If we want them to put down their screens, it starts with us.

Taking the time to reflect on our habits is an important step in deciding how we want to live our lives-- both for ourselves and for our children. While we already have too much to feel guilty about, (and needing a break or adult connection is normal), how much time we spend glued to our phones does matter. 

Ready to get real about how you use your devices? Just know you're not alone. Most of us are digitally distracted to some degree, but what's important is how much this affects our children. The answer will be different for everyone and it's up to you to decide what you want to do about it. After all, the point of all of this isn't to beat ourselves up, but rather to become more aware of things we may want to work on.
