Do Your Research Early
Spend a little time researching the value in talking about sex, anatomy, and health with your children. We recommend the book Everything You Never Wanted Your Kids to Know About Sex (But Were Afraid They'd Ask): The Secrets to Surviving Your Child's Sexual Development from Birth to the Teens.

The internet is a wealth of information, but it can be overwhelming. Talk to friends, especially those of older children and teenagers, and see what has worked for them. It’s best to have a loose map in your head of how you’re going approach this conversation that will last for the rest of your kid’s childhood.
