Labor At Home For As Long As Possible
While it's important to be mindful of whatever time recommendation your healthcare provider suggests, don't be afraid to stay home until you reach that point. Many first-time moms rush to the hospital as soon as they start feeling real contractions only to find that they're barely dilated and have to return back home. It's easier to avoid interventions if you wait to be admitted until you're in active labor, which often means getting some real work done first at home.
