15. Myth: Homeschooling Is Hard
Truth: Everything in life has its seasons and homeschooling can be challenging at times, but it is not intrinsically hard. Yes, kids and parents get frustrated. You can second guess yourself and watch the school bus full of kids drive away longingly. Then the season of struggle shifts and your child will suddenly understand long division and you will remember that you can do this!

When our children are little, we naturally take on the role of their first teacher. We hold their hands when they learn to walk and read to them so they’ll be exposed to books. We happily teach them nursery rhymes and their ABCs. Teaching our children past their preschool years isn’t different than those early times. Parents instinctively know what their children are ready to learn and how they will learn it best, but we can all too easily convince ourselves that isn’t so.
