16. Myth: Homeschooling Is Easy
Truth: Ok, I am cheating here a bit. Easy is all relative, but I don’t think that anyone who homeschools would call it easy. Some days (some years) are more difficult than others. Even when you’ve found your groove and your kids are picking up skills left and right, it isn’t easy.

The hardest part about homeschooling is often the deprogramming of ourselves in how we view education. Many parents will spend their first year of homeschooling struggling to stop thinking about education in terms of worksheets, quizzes, and grades. Once you can see how naturally kids learn without rote memorization and testing, you can loosen up on how education should be and explore what it can be.
