You Will Be In For Some Hard Questions
The hard questions start the moment you say that you are going to adopt. Family, friends, and anyone that hears a rumor will have a barrage of questions that you might not be ready for. They aren’t nearly as difficult as the questions that your adopted child will have for you, though.

Very young children can understand the basics of adoption surprisingly well. The questions they will have can throw your for a loop, though. They will wonder why their biological mother didn’t want them (no matter how many times you tell them it wasn’t about wanting them). They will ask about their extended biological family, what they look like, and if they can meet them. They will ask questions that make your heart race and also break, though never intentionally.
