The Procedure
Vasectomies are usually performed in a doctor's office or surgery center by a urologist. They're done under local anesthesia to numb the testes. There's no pain, but there may be some discomfort in the form of tugging or pulling when the doctor handles the vas deferens.

The entire procedure only takes between 15 and 30 minutes, and it's outpatient, so your partner can go home right after.
